Snowdon Lodge, also known as Tŷ Lawrence (Lawrence House), is famous for being the birthplace of  Lawrence of Arabia. Snowdon Lodge is a fascinating place to stay. It is a grade 2 listed historic building, and in the dining room some Lawrence memorabilia are displayed.  Outside there is a  plaque commemorating the birthplace of Lawrence of Arabia and a bench marking the 80th anniversary of his death.

Snowdonia has the widest choice of outdoor activities available in the UK.  From Snowdon Lodge you can go trekking up Mt. Snowdon (six miles away), climbing on Tremadog Rocks (next door), walk the Snowdon 3 Peaks or trampoline underground at Bounce Below.  You can take a zip wire across a Welsh quarry, kite surf at the local beach or explore the rocky coves of the Llyn Peninsula.  The location is ideal for walking, climbing, mountain biking, gorge traversing, white water rafting, canoeing and all manner of exciting outdoor pursuits!

Snowdon Lodge is also in an ideal location for a traditional holiday.  You can enjoy the beach at Black Rock Sands less then two miles away or explore the many coves and beaches.  Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula and nearby coastal towns are popular holiday resorts. The famous Portmeirion Italianate village is only 4 miles away and the castles of Caernarfon, Harlech and Criccieth only a short drive.

For those just wanting to see the scenery, one of the many narrow gauge steam railways is a perfect option. The Ffestiniog Railway, the Welsh Highland Railway as well as the Welsh Heritage Railway are all is less then half a mile away and make a great day out.
